And behold, thou art not only guilty of priestcraft, but hast endeavored to enforce it by the sword; and were bpriestcraft to be enforced among this people it would prove their entire destruction.

Nevertheless, this did not put an end to the spreading of priestcraft through the land; for there were many who loved the vain things of the world, and they went forth preaching afalse doctrines; and this they did for the sake of briches and honor.
Feed the flock of God, not for filthy lucre, 1 Pet. 5: 2. Churches which are built up to get gain must be brought low, 1 Ne. 22: 23 ( Morm. 8: 32-41). Because of priestcrafts and iniquities, Jesus will be crucified, 2 Ne. 10: 5. Were priestcraft to be enforced among this people it would prove their entire destruction, Alma 1: 12. The Gentiles shall be filled with all manner of priestcrafts, 3 Ne. 16: 10.

He commandeth that there shall be no apriestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set bthemselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get cgain and dpraise of the world; but they seek not the ewelfare of Zion.

And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall asin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be blifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and cmurders, and dpriestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall ereject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.

And it shall come to pass that all alyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.

Turn, all ye aGentiles, from your wicked ways; and brepent of your evil doings, of your clyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret abominations, and your idolatries, and of your dmurders, and your epriestcrafts, and your fenvyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, that ye may be gnumbered with my people who are of the house of Israel.

The son of perdition opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, 2 Thes. 2: 1-12. He deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of miracles, Rev. 13: 13-17. Sherem denied Christ and deceived many, Jacob 7: 1-23. Nehor taught false doctrines, established a church, and introduced priestcraft, Alma 1: 2-16. Korihor ridiculed Christ, the Atonement, and the spirit of prophecy, Alma 30: 6-60.
An evil man in the Book of Mormon. Nehor was one of the first to practice priestcraft among the Nephites. After teaching false doctrine and killing Gideon, Nehor was executed for his crimes ( Alma 1). Nehor’s followers continued his evil practices and teachings long after Nehor died.
