1 But king ^aSolomon loved many ^bstrange ^cwomen, together with the ^ddaughter of ^ePharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

  26 Did not ^aSolomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

  17 Neither shall he multiply ^awives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly ^bmultiply to himself silver and gold.

  13 ¶ And David took him more concubines and ^awives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet ^bsons and daughters born to David.

  39 ^aDavid’s wives and concubines were ^bgiven unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the ^ckeys of this power; and in none of these things did he ^dsin against me save in the case of ^eUriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath ^ffallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I ^ggave them unto another, saith the Lord.
