16 ¶ And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a ^awhoring after the ^bgods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and ^cbreak my covenant which I have made with them.

  17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a ^awhoring after other ^bgods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned ^cquickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.

  2 And they ^acalled the people unto the ^bsacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

  28 They joined themselves also unto ^aBaal-peor, and ^bate the sacrifices ^cof the dead.

  27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a ^afeast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
