CHAPTER 17

6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt ^asmite the ^brock, and there shall come ^cwater out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

c	Neh. 9: 15. 15 And gavest them ^abread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth ^bwater for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to ^cpossess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them. Ps. 114: 8. 8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of ^awaters. Isa. 48: 21. 21 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the ^awaters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
