CHAPTER 3

13 And the ^aletters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to ^bkill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in ^cone day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

13a	Esth. 9: 1. 1 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s ^acommandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)
