CHAPTER 1

9 Now, it came to pass that when I had heard these words I began to feel a ^adesire for the ^bwelfare of my brethren, the Nephites; wherefore, I did ^cpour out my whole soul unto God for them.

Jer. 42: 4. 4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will ^apray unto the Lord your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the Lord shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you. 2 Ne. 33: 3. 3 But I, Nephi, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great ^aworth, and especially unto my people. For I ^bpray continually for them by day, and mine ^ceyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry. Alma 34: 26 (26-27) 26 But this is not all; ye must ^apour out your souls in your ^bclosets, and your secret places, and in your wilderness.
