13 Wherefore, I call upon the ^aweak things of the world, those who are ^bunlearned and despised, to thrash the ^cnations by the power of my ^dSpirit;

  1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your ^aoffering and acknowledgments, which you have made; for unto this end have I raised you up, that I might show forth my ^bwisdom through the ^cweak things of the earth.

  25 ¶ At that time Jesus answered and said, I ^athank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast ^bhid these things from the wise and ^cprudent, and hast ^drevealed them unto ^ebabes.

  27 But God hath chosen the ^afoolish things of the world to ^bconfound the wise; and God hath chosen the ^cweak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

  23 And now, he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, ^anot only men but women also. Now this is not all; little ^bchildren do have words given unto them many times, which ^cconfound the wise and the learned.

  7 And the Lord God doth work by ^ameans to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very ^bsmall means the Lord doth ^cconfound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.

  25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth ^awise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

  20 Where is the wise? where is the ^ascribe? where is the ^bdisputer of this ^cworld? hath not God made foolish the ^dwisdom of this ^eworld?

  6 Be strong and of a good ^acourage: for unto this people shalt thou ^bdivide for an ^cinheritance the ^dland, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

  22 A ^alittle one shall become a thousand, and a small one a ^bstrong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in ^chis time.

  17 And again, he that trembleth under my power shall be made ^astrong, and shall bring forth fruits of praise and ^bwisdom, according to the revelations and truths which I have given you.

  8 Let my servant Samuel H. Smith go with you, and forsake him not, and give him thine instructions; and he that is ^afaithful shall be made ^bstrong in every place; and I, the Lord, will go with you.
