30 And thus we can plainly discern, that after a people have been once
a
enlightened
by the
b
Spirit
of God, and have had great
c
knowledge
of things pertaining to righteousness, and then have
d
fallen
away into sin and transgression, they become more
e
hardened
, and thus their state becomes
f
worse
than though they had never known these things.
Alma
53: 8
.

amongst them, had gained some ground over the Nephites, yea, insomuch that they had obtained possession of a number of their cities in that part of the land.

; and he was a descendant of Zarahemla; and he was a
b
dissenter
from among the Nephites; and he was a large and a mighty man.
D&C 93: 19

19 I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and
a
know
what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness.
