33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a ^astumblingstone and ^brock of ^coffence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

  14 And he shall be for a ^asanctuary; but for a ^bstone of ^cstumbling and for a ^drock of ^eoffence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a ^fsnare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

  34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is ^aset for the ^bfall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

  8 And a ^astone of ^bstumbling, and a ^crock of ^doffence, even to them which ^estumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were ^fappointed.

  15 And now I, Jacob, am led on by the Spirit unto prophesying; for I perceive by the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that by the ^astumbling of the ^bJews they will ^creject the ^dstone upon which they might build and have safe foundation.

  23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be ^aoffended in me.

  29 For behold, the Lord hath said: I will not ^asuccor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a ^bstumbling block before them.
