6 ¶ In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took ^aSamaria, and ^bcarried ^cIsrael away into ^dAssyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

  5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the ^aAssyrians her neighbours,

  9 For they are gone up to ^aAssyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath ^bhired lovers.
